Wayne Pacelle September 13 at 9:37pm

I will never and everyone I know which is a lot of people will never, ever donate to your organization again. A MISTAKE????????? HANGING, ELECTROCUTING, DROWNING AND FEEDING LIVE CATS TO THE DOGS FOR MONEY AND FUN OVER AND OVER AGAIN! DID YOUR SUPPORT OJ SIMPSON AS WELL??????? This is what Michael Vick is:        Profile of the Sociopath

This website summarizes some of the common features of descriptions of the behavior of sociopaths.

* Glibness and Superficial Charm

* Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used. They may dominate and humiliate their victims.

* Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as “their right.”

* Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and even able to pass lie detector tests.

* Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.

* Shallow Emotions
When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. Outraged by insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person. Since they are not genuine, neither are their promises.

* Incapacity for Love

* Need for Stimulation
Living on the edge. Verbal outbursts and physical punishments are normal. Promiscuity and gambling are common.

* Callousness/Lack of Empathy
Unable to empathize with the pain of their victims, having only contempt for others’ feelings of distress and readily taking advantage of them.

* Poor Behavioral Controls/Impulsive Nature
Rage and abuse, alternating with small expressions of love and approval produce an addictive cycle for abuser and abused, as well as creating hopelessness in the victim. Believe they are all-powerful, all-knowing, entitled to every wish, no sense of personal boundaries, no concern for their impact on others.

* Early Behavior Problems/Juvenile Delinquency
Usually has a history of behavioral and academic difficulties, yet “gets by” by conning others. Problems in making and keeping friends; aberrant behaviors such as cruelty to people or animals, stealing, etc.

* Irresponsibility/Unreliability
Not concerned about wrecking others’ lives and dreams. Oblivious or indifferent to the devastation they cause. Does not accept blame themselves, but blames others, even for acts they obviously committed.

* Criminal or Entrepreneurial Versatility
Changes their image as needed to avoid prosecution. Changes life story readily.

Response

Thanks for writing me. I share your disdain for what Vick did. We have not endorsed Vick; we have not enlisted him as a spokesperson for HSUS; and we have not advocated for his return to the NFL or his signing with the Eagles. Rather, just as he paid a million dollars two years ago for the care and rehabilitation of the dogs he abused, we believe he should continue to pay with his time – as a form of community service, which many ex-felons engage in – to help others understand the real cruelty and consequences behind dogfighting.

HSUS is the only national animal protection group which has a dedicated unit working to stop dogfighting and cockfighting – we have crafted the nation’s laws on this issue, trained law enforcement personnel, conducted investigations, and changed the national landscape on these issues. We have a rewards program and tip line, and there’s no group that does more to stop animal fighting than we have and do.

I wish Vick never did what he did, but from the very beginning of this case, we’ve channeled the public anger and awareness into action – and achieved the greatest advances for the anti-dogfighting movement ever. We’ve upgraded 26 state laws, and also the federal law in the last two years. We’ve doubled the number of arrests, and we have a raft of programs that have the animals fighters on the run. Now, we are trying to continue to leverage this case for the benefit of dogs. I frankly don’t understand how entirely shunning him saves any dogs. But engaging him, and putting him to work, has that potential.

It’s hard to make a definitive judgment about Michael Vick’s sincerity – only the passage of time can give us insight into his thinking. But, for now, we can be certain about about his actions. And we believe that Vick’s actions can add something to our effort to eradicate dogfighting – and that’s our goal. When he spoke to at-risk youth in Atlanta and Chicago, the kids were on the edges of their seats. Many of the young men we spoke with said they have seen dogfights in their neighborhood, and when they walk down the street with their pit bulls, other people challenge them to fight their dogs. After hearing Michael Vick’s story, they say they are now going to be advocates against dogfighting, and are going to spread the word to their friends.

If Michael Vick reaches one young man and steers him away from dogfighting – or thousands of young men – then that helps our cause, and prevents dogs from being forced to fight.

You hate what Michael Vick did, and so do I. But hating him won’t save the life of a single dog. Putting him to work, even if we don’t like him, may well indeed save lives. I urge you think about what’s best for the animals — even if that runs in the opposite direction of your emotional instincts. I’ve written extensively on the subject on my blog at http://www.waynepacelle.org.

Sincerely,

My Response

I have thought a hell of a lot…… enough to put 2 airplanes up in the sky about this issue at the next and next and next Eagle’s game until he stops playing football. I have no trust for Football teams and their extreme over pay and most of the red necks that support him…STILL!!!!!!!!!!! You where to rehearsed! on I believe it was sixty minutes and frankly way to supportive and nice to that evil beast. Why go on TV with it Wayne? Why not treat him like any other criminal. Do you do shows on sixty minutes with other dog killers, you know the average Joe’s? NO!!!! I also don’t trust you one bit. I will hate that spineless Michael Vik until he not playing football permanently!  No killer should be rewarded with millions of dollars after getting out of jail for less time than he should have. Not enough time pal for taking millions of dollars in dog fighting money and killing God knows how many dogs. He stopped killing dogs because he got caught. Check into the fact that he is a Sociopath. You do not rehabilitate a Sociopath.

Next it will be a children……I will stop when he rehabilitates dogs that almost died from what he did for the rest of his life and you supervising him every day since you jumped on his band wagon and how did that come about ? Did he give you a ring a ding on the phone and ask you, Hey Wayne, want to be my sponsor? Not that you would do him any favors or he do anything for you, your an honest man! A sponsor like in Alcoholics recovery programs? at oh say, 25.00 per hour after a few years.

I have never felt so sick to know in my mind what he did. I will write to every person I can to get him fired permanently. This man a role model to children and you think sending him to schools is going to stop or do anything? Your out of your mind. When you are out on the streets you do what ever you can to make easy money dogs to these people are like a drug. They feel nothing for them, which scares the hell out of me. I would be concerned about him being around children Wayne! Then other sicko dog killers are saying, Mike will be back killin’ dogs real soon after this all blows over. They are not in your world.

I personally and lots of other people are not going to stop until he is out of being payed millions of dollars and being paid like a criminal that he is. As far as I am concerned he is a mass murderer who enjoyed what he did. Next time you see him tell him Suzanne Newman has some messages in the sky just for him where ever he plays!!! Oh and tell him to rot in hell!
